As a result of this work, was the investigation of further possible ways of exploiting biomass, and particular agricultural residues, in the field of energy, since they are abundant in our region, and whose knowledge is managed by Mr. Paraskevopoulos, who joined the group from 2011.
Taking advantage of the acquired knowledge and following Mr. Tzagka’s visit and attend of a training seminar at APL’s premises in Berkeley, we proceeded to the purchase of an experimental reactor by the above-mentioned company (2012), in order to test the available raw material in our region.
Then, visits followed to various gasification plants around the world (England, India, Central Europe, etc.) by members of our company.
The encouraging results of the experimental tests as well as the favorable status of RES in Greece led us to the decision to apply for authorization to the competent authority for the establishment of a 499kW gasification plant at the end of 2013.
From the beginning of 2014 until 2015, we started the necessary arrangements and modifications to the building that will install the plant. At the same time, we began contacts with both independent producers and agricultural cooperatives to secure raw material for the operation of the plant.
In the middle of 2015, Messrs. Gkekas, Tzagkas and Paraskevopoulos founded Agrigas P.C. which will be the implementing body for the whole project and to which the licenses so far were transferred. In the same period, Messrs. Kaffes (economist) and Mr. Baltzois (lawyer) enter the corporate scheme, two external associates until then.
